I like the timetable she's set up - a nice slow project that won't have me rushing to meet the deadlines. I hope. :)
Not sure if I want to make this a two color quilt (well, deep purple, light purple, splotchy purple AND white) ... or add teal in there. I have the same 3 fabric choices in a bluey-green, deep teal, lighter aqua, and splotchy. I'll have to see what her next round is!
If you think you're interested, it's still not too late to join in, the center block's not due till the 15th.
Wow! Please tell me that's paper pieced so I won't feel so inadequate! Beautiful job- and purrrrrple is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteGreat job. It looks fantastic. Are those stash pieces?
ReplyDeleteI love your piecing. What a sharp looking star...I feel like I know you from your color choices. Those are just the colors I would have pegged for you....
ReplyDeleteHave fun...looks like you are.
Melanie
neat center block...
ReplyDeleteJane that's an amazing job!! I thought at first it was a drawing - it is so precise. Had to blow it up to see the stitches down the centre. It looks great!!
ReplyDeleteSuperb piecing! Can't wait to see what you decide for the color scheme.
ReplyDeleteWhat an exciting block to use for the center. Well done!
ReplyDeletelove the shape of your centre block. It'll be a wonderful RR.
ReplyDeleteWonderful beginning for a RR. Can't wait to see your next round.
ReplyDeleteVery cool center! I can't wait to see it grow!
ReplyDeleteI just realized I forgot to answer your question about the two-color block. I am so sorry- I had every intention of doing that. I feel that yes, a two color block will be great to start. All the rounds are left up to interpretation anyway - a great way to stretch creativity while working on your own quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat is such an awesome block. I too had to look closely to see if it was a drawing or actually stitched.

Cool! I really love that block. Perfect for the center of your ORR.
ReplyDeleteHoly COW!! How cool is that?
ReplyDeleteI'm still debating if I am going to do it. I think I'll save my feathered star for a Christmas quilt like the one I am finishing up for Betsy so would need to come up with another plan though I have some ideas in that department.
ReplyDeleteI bet anything if I DON'T do it I will wish I had join in on the fun.
Oh, wow! What a stunning start! Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, oh, wow! That's beautiful!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful center - you can go in a lot of different directions with this one - can't wait to see the first round begin
ReplyDeleteWow that is a beauty of a center for your quilt.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh that is just beautiful! It will look wonderful in any colours!
ReplyDelete*hugs*

:-)
beautiful block!
ReplyDeletethat looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is spectacular! What great color choices, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. I wish I had time to quilt again! Maybe when the garden winds down! Beautiful center, is this one going to be my Christmas present? hehe.
ReplyDeleteI love the 3 dimensional effect you have achieved by using the dark fabric so it looks like a shadow, it makes it really stand out.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I hope the rest turns out equally well. Hugs, Alison.
Wow that is an intricate block. Very pretty.
