Dan gets a Quilt

Well, the scrappy twist quilt's gone to it's new owner - my big brother, Dan. Here he is holding it up for everyone else to see:

And a closeup of him:

And of course, I made him read the label for us. I had a few blocks left from that middle border that I used to frame the label:

I don't see him very often, but he generally drives up to Tennessee every year around Thanksgiving. It was great to see him again!

  31. Hi Jane, The scrappy twist turned out wonderfully!! I really like yours better than the first ones I did up for the WTIL cause. I think controlling the color choices really makes a difference! Great idea for the border, and I can see that your brother really loves it!!!! Good job!

And what a great pic of your turkey...I love it!
Kitty Cat Caught in Blackmail Plot....busted!

I can see that I should have talked to you about Ebbys similarities to Siamese. I talked to Amy at Calico Cat, but her babies are part Burmese and don't seem to have the "look".
I'm so very thrilled with my new Ebby. Seems like I got all the pluses and missed the minuses. She doesn't shed, not even on my white down comforters. When I brush her all that is in the brush is the soft gray undercoat.
About the food, yes, it really is just a teaspoonful. As near as I can figure, she must have been feed the "wet" stuff by one of her previous owners and was weaned over to dry. The trouble started with her vet wanting her to lose a couple of pounds. She was getting about 1.5 cups of dry per day...alot for her build. Now she only gets a half cup, once a day. She was fairly satified the first few days with just the teaspoon as she wasn't that "empty" yet. Now that she's experiencing empty, she wants to gobble up the wet stuff first thing in the morning.
It's the gravy part she likes best...cleaning all that off the food and then eating the food last. Unfortuately I stepping in a "pile" she gave back to me, the other day. That was one time too many...LOL. I know, I'm cruel...LOL

  34. What a wonderful quilt for your brother - he sure looks pleased! Your version came out beautifully - I just love how the same pattern can look so different depending upon colors/scraps used! Gives each quilt a bit of it's own individuality.

    Cheers!
