Here's my most recent finish - a blue and green delectable mountain quilt - pattern from Bonnie's site, www.quiltville.com, of course. I liked the lanterns layout on her examples, and the zig zag layout too, so I combined them. It was quilted by Mary S. in Missouri, and she did a great job for me, as usual, even constantly switching threads, using blue/green thread on the dark fabric and cream thread on the light fabric.
And here's what I've been working on lately - remember the hundreds of blue and beige half square triangles I was doing a few months ago? I sewed them all into depression blocks, then used some of the same blues and beiges to make kaleidoscope blocks. It's not your typical kaleidoscope wedges, though, I made the blue kite shapes skinnier and the beige parts wider, to fit edgewise with my 16 patch depression blocks. This is half the quilt top, it'll be kingsize, so when I get the top done, even without borders, it won't fit on the fence.
And finally, I got a rental car, the insurance companies decided that yes, their clients were at fault, and they're fixing my van this week. But lookie what I get to drive instead! I'm going to be so spoiled that I won't be happy when my van comes back... lol.
It's not near as big as it looks in this picture, but it sure is nice! It's a Toyota 4-runner, with all kinds of things I'm not used to. A lot higher than my minivan, for sure!

Looks wonderful, Jane! A finish, yahoo! Kaleidoscope is looking good too.
I wondered if they had come to any sort of resolution to your car situation. Enjoy the loaner wheels while you can.
Both quilts are really pretty. I espeically love the kaleidoscope one that you are piecing! The colors and the pattern are fantastic.
Love both the quilts. Lucky you to get the rental car. You are in the lap of luxury!
That's good news. Enjoy !
I really like the colour scheme in both those quilts - the white gives them a crisp clean look - very nice.
It's always fun to try "new wheels". I love both quilts... Quite a bit of talent in those stitches...The Color coordination is awesome.
The quilts are terrific, nice job! Too bad you have to go through such hassle with your cars, esp. since it was someone else's fault to begin with! At least you will have a few days of a really nice ride.
Great quilts. I like both of them. Bonnies quilt patterns are wonderful aren't they. I look forward to seeing the finished kaleidoscope. The color choices are wonderful and the size of it is going to make it stunning. Enjoy your new wheels while you have them.
The delectable mountain is wonderful. The depression block quilt is looking fab too :)
I like the colors in both of them. A bunch of friends and I did a purple block swap with that pattern about 5 years ago. One of these days, I'll get my top quilted. =) I finished it last summer. LOL!
The first quilt has sort of a southwest feel to it...like it lots.
great job on the Delectable Mountains--and I LOVE your depression blocks quilt..I've been watching you sew all those little hst's! what a great secondary block!
Both quilts are really great! I'm partial to blue quilts anyway. Good luck with the new wheels.
I absolutely adore that setting for the delectable mountains - each time I go into Bonnie's site for a bit of an eye candy fix I always gravitate towards that technique - you've inspired me - I have way too much blue in my stash both light and dark - probably 3 or 4 times more than any other colour - it sounds like it's time to get it out and play!
You're on a roll! Those quilts are wonderful! Both of them!
Hello,
I like your both the quilts.
Regards,
Sonnja from the Netherlands
Very impressive quilt! The top looks great too, I love how you changed the way they are normally done!
The close quilting really sets off the blocks of the green quilt--it turned out beautifully.
Beautiful quilts. I really love the blue and tan one.
Boy have I been missing out on eye candy! The delicatable mountains quilt is beautiful too!
Love the zig zags, been seeing them around and appreciated the link, Tracey
