Anti-Depression blocks

I was making the two Blocks-of-the-Month due for my guild meeting and got interrupted when I was about to start sewing the last two halves together. When I came back to my machine, I saw this. Wouldn't that make a cool border idea? I like pieced borders, and this one would make good use of all those scraps. :)

Then, of course, I went on and attached the top half of those blocks to the bottom half, and got these two depression blocks:

Hi Jane

You may remember back in October of last year you left a comment on www.aftertheparty.blogspot.com, about the making of our collaborative quilt called "After the Party". I am thrilled to tell you that our quilt was one of the two joint winners of the award. My first quilting prize! My collaborator, Janice, also won "Overall Best" in the New Zealand Hoffman Challenge and this was also announced at our National Symposium this week. We are very happy campers.

All your heartstrings designs are great. I want to make one of each! You're right these would make an awesome border. Lots of interest, and not too complicated to piece.
