Heartstring blocks

Well, just like I heard, these string blocks ARE addictive! One blue middle, and 5 red middles, all done in an evening. And not only fast, but easy too. Here's the first ones I've done, another 6 on the way. I plan to mail a couple off to Texas, then I think I'm going to try to do it as block-of-the-month with my guild, we have several charities we give quilts to.

And of course, Toby had to check out what I was doing with fabric on the floor. I was able to distract him with a ping pong ball I found under the couch so I could get the cat-free picture above. He can play pretty good soccer with the ping pong ball, but the game is over if he bats it too close to the couch.

Glad to see we enticed another blogger to make these blocks. They look great - I worked on my string blocks tonight too.

I can see why your cat cat likes these blocks...is the paper still on them and make fun crunchy sounds! They look great too!

I'm hoping to make a start on mine today. If they are addictive as you say they are, then I can't see me getting anything else done!

they certainly are addictive. I have just posted off 28 blocks to the lady who is collecting the blocks here in Australia.

So many wonderful pictures of Heartsting blocks around blogland - so many pictures of cats "inspecting" Heartsting blocks around blogland. LOL!

Thank you so much for making a few blocks to celebrate my birthday. Aren't they fun to make? And will make a wonderful project for your guild.

Looking good! I made a ton of string blocks last night too. But I had help with the pressing and trimming!

Nice blog! I had to entice my cat to a cozy piece of fleece..she was warming the STRINGS! lolol No way to make more when you cannot access the strings...::::Sigh::: Your quilts are enticing me back to piecing. I have been helping a new sewer...(who is also in love with string blocks!), so I have gotten side tracked on my projects... The strings were SUPPOSED to be a leaders/enders for me. HA!
