Where I'm Going

Several of you asked where I'm going with the kaleidoscope and connector blocks, so here'e the EQ version of it:

I've only got seven of these blocks left to make, then I'll attach it. The final size, including that outer marbled teal 2 inch border, will be 40 inches square. I'm thinking, after this round might be a good time to set it on point, so tilt your heads to see where it might be going... I'm thinking 4 big white triangles maybe? And (correct me if I'm wrong) but I think putting 4 big triangles on this will take the size of the quilt to 60 inches square. I'm going to need a lot more if it's going to be king size. :)

Gosh that would be a poser - two colours only in a round especially as your pineapple round was so busy but hey! you've really carried it off and this border is very striking - no good asking me about sizing with triangles and setting on point - when I'm doing a medallion I never calculate anything I just keep going til I'm done - this one of yours looks like it'll be a real goodun!

Gorgeous quilt! Are you paper piecing? It looks very complex, especailly the row with the little flying geese. Is it hard to transfer and idea from EQ to fabric? I have never actually looked at EQ but seeing this quilt, it is tempting.

It's simply beautiful Jane. White triangles to set it on point now will give you some space to do some quilting in that can really sparkle...

I like it. I love making quilts in EQ. I also want to know if you will be paper piecing some or all of the blocks.

I have been lurking in the background and enjoying your blog -- I thought I should come out and say how lovely that quilt will be and the colours are just stunning. Looking forward to more pictures as you progress.

You have developed a really great website for your quilt guild as well. I enjoy checking in on it every now and then.

Actually about 56 1/2" per side. You've got some more designing to do! Looking good so far.

Gorgeous! I love those colors. Would you believe when I started quilting I thought I liked every color "except turquoise?" I quickly discovered that I was wrong about what I liked and didn't like. I'm very drawn to "teal" as I call it now.

I love how that looks! I thought I had pictured how those blocks would look together, but not quite like how you have it - ok so my "picturing" wasn't so good. It looks wonderful!

Cool quilt, can't wait to see yours all up close and personal. I like EQ, too, but I rarely have time to use it and then it'll be ages between sessions and I forget how to use it and I have to go back through the tutorials all over again. It's exhausting being me!
