Like many of you, I like using pizza boxes (clean, unused) for sorting/storing my projects in progress. Here's the palette for my next quilt, teals, lavenders, purples, fuschias, blues, a few lighter turquoises, and two slightly larger prints tying together several of the colors:
I wish I could find more of the two prints on the upper right and left, either one of them would work nicely as a border. All 200 of these squares are from my stash, I haven't bought any fabric since before Christmas. Most of these are from 4 inch squares and FQ's I got VERY cheaply on eBay some time ago. It's so nice to already have your squares cut for you!
And, like the half square triangles in my other ongoing project, there's a furry good reason I have to keep them all sorted out in a pizza box with a lid:
Now there's no shortage of places Toby can lay. He has a cat tree with 3 perches. There's a windowsill with a view. The couch behind him is empty, with a nice cushion... and just over his back, you can see the raggy quilt that I leave on the couch for them. Not much damage they could do to that old denim thing, even with both of them still having their claws. It's very soft, very sturdy, easy to wash. But nooooo, where does he want to lounge? He shoves over the book I'm reading and sprawls half on, half off the pizza box. I could understand it more if it smelled like pizza, but this was an unused box I begged from Pizza Hut.
He kept squirming around, pushing with his feet, till the book landed on the floor and he could get truly comfy. But at least he's not IN the box, shedding on my squares! :D

Great color choices in that pizza box. Maybe Toby can feel the heat from those bright colors radiating through the box. Lol.
love the colors Jane that you are going to use for your next project! One advantage of having a dog-she doesn't climb up on my work table!
LOL!! Aren't pizza boxes supposed to be kitty chaises? Someone once told me that they like to lay on things that have our scent, but I think quilters kittys are as addicted to the scent of sizing as we are!
Those teals/purple/blues combo is super - can't wait to see what you do with it!
I think cats have a special sense and know just where to lounge to establish with their owners who is boss (and it is NOT the pet owner). I had a cat who generally was fine being near you but not all over you-- unless you were laying down or sitting on a couch to read a book. THEN she would decide that your lap, in front of the book, or on your chest was just the right place to hang out. I'm not sure it is a coincidence that she was also 1/2 seal point siamese. Maybe it is part of the breed?
Love the colors in your pizza box! Do you think it would work on toddlers as well as cats? I no longer have any furry friends, but I do have an active almost 2 year old!
Cats really know how to push our buttons, don't they?
Your fabric colors are great!
Remember that saying?
Dogs have masters
Cats have staff.
LOL! Love the colors.
My cat prefers my loaded quilt frame as her personal hammock. I have taken to laying tin foil on it. ::grin::: Also clean warm out of the dryer clothes...underwear is a favorite! ICK! Can you figure out why we cannot find more pizza boxes? I cannot even PURCHASE them...grrrr
Oh yes, I use pizza boxes also! Boy are all those squares gorgeous together!
Those colors are luscious! I wish I could help you find more of those fabrics. I know I don't have them. Good luck in your hunt.
Your kitty is adorable. Pets are such comedians! Pains in the patooty, for sure, but wouldn't our worlds be awfully dull without them?!
(Hugs)
My Amy was peering over my shoulder not so long ago, and she is loving the colours in the pizza box! Toby is just gorgeous!

Hi Jane, Happy One Year of Blogging Anniversary that you passed in March!! Love the pic or Toby, he's such a fine looker.
Hi Jane, what a great picture of Toby! He's such a fine looking cat...really beautiful.
I love the colors in that particular pizza box, should make a really neat quilt.
And the one you finished up at your Sit and Sew is a neat idea also. Lots of sewing in that backing..LOL.
Have a great Easter holiday. Hugs, Finn
This is a beautiful set of fabric. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. I agre that pizza boxes are a wonderful way to store fabric. I haven't gotten any myself though.
My cat loves sitting or laying on a piece of cardboard, I don´t know whether it reminds him when he was a kitty. He is a siames too, name Frodo
Cute kitty - Mine will hop in the box! (I keep it open when I am working on that project...)
That book "Dogs Who Know When Their Owners are Coming Home" would argue for this being a case of telepathy, like he knows that what's in that pizza box is on your mind at the moment.
Toby is a beautiful cat!
