Another new quilt idea

It seems like I just get almost finished with one quilt top, then get started on an idea for another. I went to Cynthia's blog and saw the little star she's working on... and then at Finn's blog, I saw her Depression block.

Now I've put them together into a design that will look good scrappy, I think. I love designs that look like you've set them on point without all the bother of actually having to cut setting triangles:

That depression block is going to be January's block of the month for my quilting guild, so I was planning on making a sample or two anyway. So I'm going to do THAT, and take pix, then get back to work on finishing the borders for this floral thing before I start making depression blocks and stars!

i love the design you have shown using the two blocks. As soon as i saw it i thought maybe i could do something like this instead of the pattern i was going to make with the star blocks. Hmmmm...perhaps that's another quilt i can make AFTER i have done my 30s star block quilt.
Look forward to seeing your blocks :-)

What a mervelous design you've made. I need to save this for inspiration. I love quilts where two blocks are put together to make a brand new design. You are obviously very proficient in EQ. I don't use mine often enough to remember what I learn each time.

Are you sure that you have to finish the floral one before starting this one??? Really sure?!? OK...'spose I'll wait for you. ;-)

A delightful design! I love the secondary patterns that the two blocks create when married together. Great border treatment too!

Great design-did you do it in EQ? Just rec'd my EQ6 and am still dong the lessons, but this is one I'd really like to try! I have some homespun plaids and stripes that would be great in this.

Love your design! Are they 8 inch blocks? I could get into this. I love HSTs. I need to plot this out on my EQ. Thanks for sharing!
