And Borders

Well, here's the quilt with borders. I just finished it this evening. :P

Supposed to be queen sized, but I think it's queen sized spread... lol. The border didn't use all my bonus hsts from making all the snowballs, so I have a bunch of them left. Maybe I'll make matching pillow shams or something.

I had a problem getting the borders to come out right at the corners... so I just decided to make every corner different. The border connects all the way around, makes a path... but at the corners, it makes some quirky little jogs.

Wow, oh wow! That looks fabulous! The border is a beautiful addition, but seeing it all spread out like that, it looks just breath-taking.

I like quirkey - makes the quilt individual. Great quilt.

The quilt is beautiful! Love the border. One of these days I'll work up to designing more complicated borders in my quilts! (Well...okay...my Dear Jane is slightly complicated, LOL, but most of my other ones are simple...!)

Like the quilt. It's the one I'm thinking of doing next as my leaders/enders. And I LOVE the border design. What a unique use of those extra triangles and one I've snagged for my "quilt ideas" file.

It turned out so well, I really like it. Your borders are an inspiration to try something pieced instead of just strips of fabric! Nicely done.

Interesting border--good use of the leftovers, for sure. Boy, that looks huge but maybe it is the camera angle.

Lovely quilt - and there is nothing wrong with quirky corners. Our foremothers did it all the time. Perfectly matched corners is a modern thing, stressed by the quilt police. Doing your own thing is so much more interesting!

great that you accomodated to the borders rather than "freaked out" -- It'll be lovely in the years to come to see it without them identical I'm sure :-)

This is a very pretty quilt. I like scrappy and I like the cool colors you have chosen for the quilt. The border adds a perfect finishing touch. I've never made anything bigger than a full size quilt, so I'm impressed with the size.
