Well, this is not how I'm going to use these, they'll be in a border, not all together, but I couldn't resist playing with the patterns they make. Maybe someday I'll make a quilt with this block ... but the blocks will sure be bigger than 4 inches square!
Straight Furrows
Grid of Diamonds
Pinwheel Center
Purple Center
Teal Center
I would have a difficult time deciding on one pattern though! Which one of these do YOU like the best? Here's one I made last Feb. with hot pink, light pink, and purple triangles in the diagonal. I made some solid squares without the triangle corners to complete my heart - and the use of solid squares opens up a whole 'nother realm of patterns. :)

I love the teal center one a lot. The colors look so amazing.
I personally like the grid of diamonds the best, but they all look good. Can't wait to see them added to that gorgeous star block.
which layout??? I like the heart the best!Cant decide about the others.
Straight furrows and the teal center but it looks good reversed too. I didn't play around enough with the blocks on the two I made I can see now.
The pinky, magentas stand out more on the teal center and you are talking to a purple/pink nut, LOL. You might expect that response then. You know we are all going to have different opinions!!
That heart is way cool though--off to study the pic again.
I like them all...any one would be a gorgeous quilt!

I like them all! I would never be able to pick just one!
I can see that's a block pattern I'd spend ages hitting the "symetry button" on Easy Quilt 5! Do you have to pick one? Why not make more blocks and make them all! :-)
I think I like the first one - straight furrows best but they all have so much movement you can't go wrong.
I love Teal Center and Purple Center!
I prefer the purple center one - just hits me "right". :)
Wow! I love them all! Your right - I would have to have a quilt with each setting! They are wonderful!
oh the endless choices and ideas playing with blocks leads to...all wonderful, all worth making!
My gosh, I want one of each. I would not be able to choose just one.
I like the teal center. I love playing with blocks like this to see where it takes me.
Wow - I like them all! I guess I would vote for the straight furrows or the teal center.
I love the blocks - I can't wait to see them on your ostrich!!
BTW - my site is experiencing several major problems with the host. I have switched hosts, but it is going to take a few days to switch my domain name to the new host and then subsequently have to re-add everything to the site. I am hoping by late next week things will be back to normal.
purple center gets my vote
It's a lot easier when the blocks are bigger, trust me! Ilove the one you did last year, with the heart. Did you send that picture to Bonnie? If not, I know she'd love to see it.
Ohhh, they're all great, what a versatile block! If I had to choose, I think I would pick 'grid of diamonds' I can't decide why I like that one better, it just caught my eye!
*hugs*

:-)
I like the purple center the best. Too bad they're not going to be a quilt all their own. They'll make a colorful border.
Your heart is sweet.
You are quite incredible! I never would have thought of all the ways you came up with to lay out those pineapple blocks...really remarkable, and I love ALMOST all of them..LOL
Your pink passion heart is really neat! Love that purple accent!
I think that's one of the reasons I love log cabin blocks so much. There are so many different ways to put them together. It's so much fun to play with all of them, and so hard to choose the final setting. The same is true of any block that is half light and half dark. Love the heart quilt!
Fun post, love the variety of settings, just proves quilters can come up with endless ideas to do in their limited time.en
It is fun, trying out different settings. All of them would make great quilts. I like the teal center the best, because it brings out the purple more.
I like the straight furrows personally. I can't believe it's the same block in the pinks!
And 4" square is dedicated!
