Quilt Center
Well, here's the center of my quilt... now for the borders! Just as I predicted, it's too long to hang on the fence now. :) I took it to work and used the tall library shelving units to hang it for a quick picture - really speedy, I just lifted up a book on that top shelf every foot or so, and pinched the top edge of the quilt under it. I've been working on the borders, but I'm at the cutting strips to go with all my hsts stage and it's nothing interesting to take a picture of yet. This IS the first large quilt I've done - larger than twin size, I mean. I've been surprised at what a mass of fabric it is to move around!
Here's Libby, looking at the birds in my front yard. I know I'm weird, but I love the way she curls her tail around her toes so neatly. I wanted to try to move her tail around to the right side of her body, so she'd look prettier, but figured I'd take a picture of her before I tried it. Lucky I did, as soon as I tried to pose her, she got disgusted with me and decided window-sitting-with-interfering-mom wasn't a good place to be. :D
Chickweed Lane is my favorite comic strip. :) Mostly because it features Solange, the Siamese cat - the artist has the quirks and mannerisms of the Siamese down to a T. Chickweed Lane Index

that is a very pretty quilt - i forgot if you mentioned what your borders would be...
great job on your first big quilt. And yes, it's amazing how much fabric it is to manipulate! It's really pretty.
you're first "big" quilt is turning out very well. They really do get hard to lug around as they "grow".
I love the cartoon. Thanks for sharing it it brought a smile to my face...
Yhis is a really nice quilt. I might have to copy it for myself. Great job.
Oh that is if you don't mind.
I like that quilt! It's beautiful!
((HUGS))
Neat quilt - and what a novel way to hang it! Please excuse the pun but I couldn't resist it :-)
Looks like you had fairly decent light on the quilt that way---looking good! How big are you shooting for because it looks plenty big already?!
Lovely centre - those white squares with the little square centres really stand out between the stars now - if you think it's difficult to lug around now wait (or should that be weight - groan!!) til you get it sandwiched and see how much it weighs then :o) Great display wall - very innovative
Oh, what a beauty your star quilt turned out to be. Just love it! And Libby is quite a looker too! I am the same way about the grace and beauty of cats. I could just sit and watch my two for hours. Cats are amazing animals.
Your stars look great Jane, and Libby is a beauty!
Wow, that's gorgeous - knockout gorgeous! Your cat is very sophisticated and elegant looking. I love cats in windows. I usually have the kind who fall asleep there and fall off. =)
Thanks for the link to Chickweed Lane. I'll check it out. this one was good.
Creative way to get a quilt pic. I hate working with large bed-sized quilts - eek too much fabric.
The curled tail looks perfect in the pic just the way it is. Sweetie girl Libby.
Oh, this is coming along wonderfully! The colors are great!
Jeanne :)
You can send it here when it is finished, it is so beautifull.
That's a very pretty quilt! Can't wait to see it with borders. They do get kinda big and bulky as they get larger, don't they?

Your quilt is just lovely, really beautiful. I love the colours. Libby looks so regal sitting there. Isn't it amazing how cats can be so neat!

Love the quilt! & the cat... (I have similar ideas, & get similar responses with my own... Kitties really do "sit pretty.")
I Love your quilt and Libby is beautiful. Is she a siamese cat. My own persian girl is always laying on my quilts or fabric.
Hugs from Norway
